The Fattened Caf is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Manager to lead our
team at our WashU location. This is a high-paced café where strong leadership, organization,
and the ability to thrive under pressure are essential. We're looking for someone who leads by
example, supports their team, and is committed to delivering exceptional food, drinks, and
customer service every day.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Front of House and Back of House team members during dailyoperations.
- Ensure smooth, efficient service during busy rushes.
- Coach, train, and develop employees while maintaining a positive team culture.
- Manage labor to meet business needs.
- Oversee daily opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor food quality, beverage quality, and presentation standards.
- Ensure excellent customer service by resolving guest concerns professionally and promptly.
- Maintain inventory levels, and communicate product needs to the Director of Operations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Monitor and ensure accurate daily transactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked café.
- Hold team members accountable to company policies, attendance expectations, and performance standards.
- Step into Front of House or Back of House roles as needed to support the team during peak service.
- Prepare and submit a Weekly End-of-Service (EOS) Report to the Director of Operations that includes:
- In-house sales and credit card transaction totals; include discrepancies
- Incident reports involving guests, employees, or operations
- Average guest wait times and service performance
- Labor actions, including coaching, disciplinary actions, attendance concerns, staffing updates, and employee recognition
- Operational concerns, maintenance issues, and recommendations for improvement
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant or café management experience required.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced restaurant or café environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience with labor management, inventory, and daily reporting preferred.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining a calm, positive attitude under pressure.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work mornings, evenings and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
