Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools promptly to ensure readiness for food preparation and service.
- Assist with bussing tables and clearing dining areas to support smooth restaurant operations.
- Handle manual cleaning tasks including scrubbing, rinsing, and drying kitchen equipment and surfaces.
- Follow proper food handling protocols to prevent cross-contamination and maintain sanitation standards.
- Support food preparation activities by organizing kitchen supplies and assisting with basic prep tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean work environment by regularly sanitizing workstations, floors, and storage areas in compliance with kitchen health and safety standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is advantageous.
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of operating kitchen equipment are a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for extended periods is essential.
- Experience with catering or banquet service can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
