Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian Assistant or LVT to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for felines while assisting veterinarian/s in various tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of veterinary practices, animal handling, and excellent communication skills to ensure the well-being of our patients and support for their owners. Must be a team player!

Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
- Prepare animals for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during treatments and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments.
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Manage inventory of supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
- Document patient records accurately and maintain confidentiality.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant is REQUIRED.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to animal dentistry.
- Proficient in dog handling techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology to effectively communicate with the veterinary team.
- Understanding of animal physiology to assist in patient care.
- Ability to perform animal restraint techniques safely.
- Experience with equine care is a plus for those interested in working with horses.
- Basic knowledge of animal husbandry practices to support overall animal health.
- Experience with X-Ray procedures is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with laboratory processes related to veterinary medicine is an advantage.

Pay: $16.00 - $28.00 per hour
