Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen to ensure a hygienic workspace
- Assist in meal preparation, including slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients with proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and ensure timely service
- Adhere strictly to recipe specifications and presentation standards for each dish
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining safety standards in production
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments with a strong foundation in food handling and safety management
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Skilled in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under pressure
- Strong understanding of safety standards in food production and cleaning protocols
- Experience in catering or large-scale food industry settings is advantageous
- Demonstrated proficiency in knife skills, slicing techniques, and food industry best practices
