Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and efficient cook to handle lunch time service and catering events. You will be responsible for multitasking between grilling, frying, and plating multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining strict food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapid Food Production: Prepare and cook to order a variety of quick-preparation foods, including sandwiches, hamburgers, and fried items.
- Order Management: Coordinate the timing of various food items on a single ticket to ensure all components of a customer's meal are finished simultaneously
- Food Preparation: Perform "prep" tasks such as slicing meats, chopping vegetables, and preparing soup, sauces, and dinner menu before service peaks.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace, equipment, and storage areas; rotate stock using "First In, First Out" (FIFO) methods.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of assigned SKUs and track product rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming stock for damage or discrepancies against the purchase order and evaluate if products meet established safety and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment, including flat-top grills, deep fryers, and ovens.
- Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand for long shifts, work in high-heat environments, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Food Handlers Certificate: Candidates must have a valid food handlers certificate as part of this job.
- Multitasking: Excellent short-term memory and the ability to track multiple orders under intense pressure.
- Sanitation Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety protocols and FDA temperature requirements.
- Experience: While many learn on the job, previous experience in a fast-casual or high-volume kitchen is preferred.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
