The Therapeutic Recreational Specialist provides recreational therapy services and develops activities for clients, as part of the Residential Program treatment team. They utilize a variety of activities (art, music, games, video, drama, movement, sports, crafts, dance, relaxation techniques, etc.) to enhance the physical and emotional well-being of clients in the Program.
Schedule: Full-time position with flexible daytime into late afternoon hours.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement therapeutic recreation activities for clients
- Assess client’s individual needs for therapeutic recreation intervention/therapy
- Provide leisure enhancement and community awareness services and activities
- Maintain gym equipment and program supply inventory
- Assist in transporting clients and providing unit support as needed in emergency situations
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy
Compensation: $22.00 starting, adjusted for certification.
Requirements: 21 years of age or older; successful candidate must apply for and obtain FBI Fingerprint, Child Abuse and PA Criminal History clearances, and verify education level.
