Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity
- Assist customers with product demos, explaining features and benefits to encourage sales
- Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities in a friendly manner
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Follow phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone
- Support inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and assisting with inventory counts
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures in a retail or grocery store environment
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills in team settings
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve our multicultural customer base
- Excellent phone etiquette for professional customer interactions over the phone
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Knowledge of merchandising, product demos, upselling techniques, and retail math principles
- Familiarity with grocery store operations including stocking, product placement, and inventory management
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly attitude and proactive problem-solving approach
