The team comprises 2 partners, a director, a senior associate, 3 paralegals and a trainee. Our role would suit someone who is ambitious to progress their career in a friendly and motivated team. The client base includes residential developers, housing associations, care home operators, older living developers and landowners.
The CRE team provides advice to a wide range of clients including developers, retailers, hotel and leisure operators, institutional investors, utilities, energy companies, universities and educational providers, charities and engage in cross-border work and corporate support work.

- Dealing with a variety of complex and high value transactions across the practice area and assisting in the management and development of junior team members
- Leading land acquisition and disposal transactions for a variety of private developer and public sector clients, including greenfield site deals, brownfield re-developments, golden brick and turnkey housing delivery transactions
- Involvement in strategic land deals with support from our specialist planning, construction and energy teams
- Preparing Deeds of Conditions and DMS Deeds of Conditions for new developments
- Negotiating of Promotion Agreements, Option Agreements and Joint Venture Agreements
- Providing support to corporate colleagues on the property due-diligence requirements of corporate transactions
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, delegation and communication skills
- A proactive, commercial approach with the ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively as part of the team or independently
- Strong client relationship and client care skills
- Time management skills to maximise the profitability of your work
- Ability to identify and manage risk effectively in your work
- Committed to a commercial property career
- Strong technical knowledge of Scottish property law and experience handling transactions from instruction through to completion
- Proven experience in one or more of the following areas: development, investment, asset management or corporate support
