Summary:
A Senior Press Brake Operator is able to program part from print to do prototypes. This position will be responsible for consulting with leads and modify programs when needed. Able to develop processes for the department. Assists leads in the evaluation of junior level operators
Responsibilities:
- Select appropriate tooling, dies, and machinery settings to produce complex parts
- Follow work instructions and read drawings to select position and secure machinery
- Edit, store, and create (when necessary) CNC programs based on engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, gauges, and tape measures to meet tolerances
- Provide hands-on training to Press Brake Helpers and Operators and help with troubleshooting
- Perform routine maintenance on machines (cleaning tools, checking hydraulic oil levels)
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, organized work area to prevent accidents
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school or GED diploma.
- 5+ years of experience in press brake or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints
- Strong understanding of shop mathematics, including geometry and fractions for bending calculations
- Familiar with CNC controller interfaces
- Demonstrate sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Benefit:
- 7% shift differential added to base rate
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, related noise levels as well as changes of temperature. Position will be primarily working in a standing position for up to 6 plus hours per day. Some duties will require sitting for short periods of time.
