American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a day shift position at a Level 2 trauma center with a Level 3 NICU, serving an infant-to-geriatric patient population.

Level 2 trauma center that is also interventional stroke certified, with a Level 3 NICU that serves as a regional transport resource
-
Primarily adult RRT with exposure to pediatric intubated patients; patient population spans infants to geriatrics
-
Performs non-invasive ventilation, conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests (spirometry), arterial lines, arterial blood gases, capillary blood gases, line draws, oxygen management, and patient education

EMR and unit systems include Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea

Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
-
Every other weekend required

Floating within the facility and to a sister campus as needed

No on-call requirements

Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience

Trauma experience required

Active GA RRT license required — license required if applicable

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS

Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred

First-time travelers are accepted

RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

Blackout dates apply for both day and night shifts during portions of June, July, and August — no RTO will be approved during these windows

Holiday coverage is required: travelers are expected to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two occur; if three occur, travelers must work two (one holiday RTO request may be submitted for approval)

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler

The shift and schedule listed are firm — no alternate shift or schedule requests are permitted

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Travelers who have previously worked at any facility within this health system must have been away for at least one full year prior to returning
