Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our facilities maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across various areas such as offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces.
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning procedures, adhering to all safety protocols and handling instructions.
- Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain polished floors and ensure optimal floor care.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks using proper techniques to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms by disinfecting surfaces, replenishing supplies, and ensuring proper sanitation standards are met.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or fixtures and reporting larger repairs to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling activities to prevent injury.
- Support industrial cleaning projects or specialized custodial tasks as required.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when stock levels are low.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical agent handling, and floor care equipment such as buffers.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling procedures.
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs or upkeep activities.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning standards and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and mobility to perform manual tasks efficiently.
- Prior porter experience or background in industrial cleaning is advantageous.
