Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to become a key part of our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting with food assembly, and supporting the kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, has some kitchen experience, and enjoys working in a lively environment where quality and safety are top priorities. Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, marinating, and measuring ingredients according to recipes and standards.
- Support the cooking process by preparing basic menu items and ensuring proper food handling practices.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils.
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure all meals are prepared in a hygienic environment.
- Aid in meal assembly for service periods, ensuring timely and accurate presentation of dishes.
- Support catering events or special functions with food prep and setup as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and uphold high standards of quality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food handling, safety regulations, and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife skills.
- Familiarity with restaurant or food industry environments is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning new culinary methods.
