Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides skilled, evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals ranging from early intervention through adulthood. The SLP evaluates, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, communication, feeding, and swallowing disorders while developing individualized treatment plans that promote functional communication, safe feeding, and improved quality of life.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, client-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, feeding, and swallowing evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each client's unique needs.
- Provide speech-language therapy for communication disorders, articulation, language delays, fluency, voice, cognitive-communication, and social communication skills.
- Evaluate and treat pediatric feeding, oral-motor, and swallowing disorders using evidence-based practices.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, behavior analysts, educators, and other providers to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate families and caregivers on communication strategies, feeding techniques, home programming, and carryover recommendations.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with organizational, payer, and licensing requirements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care planning, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current Alabama Speech-Language Pathology license, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Current CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Experience evaluating and treating pediatric speech, language, feeding, swallowing, and oral-motor disorders.
- Strong knowledge of dysphagia, feeding aversions, sensory-based feeding concerns, texture progression, and safe swallowing practices.
- Experience working in a pediatric setting is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities is preferred.
