Job Overview
Arkansas Baptist College invites applicants for adjunct instructors in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The teaching opportunity for adjuncts are semester-to-semester. The academic year starts Fall 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach 3 to 11 undergraduate general studies hours per semester – adjunct (11 hours or less), serve as academic advisor to the General Studies majors, hold office hours, and other responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A degree in course content area(s) with a minimum of 18 graduate hours. Prior teaching experience a plus. An earned doctorate degree is preferred (ABDs will be considered).
EXPERIENCE
- Proven classroom experience in higher education or adult education settings, demonstrating effective teaching techniques
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly Blackboard or similar platforms
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students, provide academic advising, and support their overall success
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies tailored for adult learners in a higher education context
