Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
System Administrator/System Engineer who is passionate and a creative problem solver who thrives on being customer service oriented. This is a unique opportunity to exercise a great degree of freedom and creativity to architect and prototype new systems providing new capabilities and solutions to a customer that is transitioning to the next phase of their technical roadmap. This is NOT a standard System Administrator position requiring off-hours/weekend/on-call support, but it does require hands-on skills building, configuring, and managing a small number of VMs.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Creating and maintaining new technical solutions.
- Hands-on administration of the supported VMs, including standard O&M activities such as applying patches/updates and implementing system configuration changes as needed.
- Enhancing existing applications by integrating new technology components and capabilities.
- Assisting the customer in understanding and evaluating new technologies with respect to their current and future needs.

Required Skills
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator/Systems Engineer performing administration, engineering, or design in support of system engineering, software development, or related activities.
- Hands-on experience with any of the following technologies and applications:
- Linux system administration
- AWS-based architecture/design/provisioning
- Python
- Perl
- Cross-domain solutions
- RESTful web services
- Experience with any of the following a plus:
- Java/Javascript
- NiFi
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Atlassian suite (Jira, etc.)
- Ability to work in both Windows and Linux environments a strong plus.
- Must be able to work in a flexible/fluid environment.
- Excellent at multi-tasking.
- Superb organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communicate skills.
