Island Communities is hiring a detail oriented Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our team. The Accounts Payable Coordinator will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function. This role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Your job will include:
- Process and code invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers, payments, and check runs.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment issues and answer queries.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
