Job Summary
Join our judicial team as a Deputy Clerk in the 10th Judicial District Court, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of court proceedings. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing legal case files, ensuring accurate filing, data entry, and document preservation in accordance with court procedures.
- Support courtroom operations by preparing dockets, scheduling hearings, and coordinating with judges, attorneys, and litigants.
- Conduct legal research and review case documents to verify procedural compliance and gather pertinent information for court proceedings.
- Draft legal documents, orders, and correspondence with precision and adherence to legal terminology and formatting standards.
- Provide courteous customer service by answering inquiries from the public, attorneys, and court staff both in person and via phone or email.
- Maintain detailed records of court activities, including filing logs, case updates, and procedural documentation.
- Assist with clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies to ensure an organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a paralegal or in legal administrative support is highly desirable with AR District Court Clerks Certification preferred (if not current will be required to attain).
- Strong knowledge of procedural law, courtroom procedures, legal terminology, and case management systems.
- Proficiency in word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word) along with excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated clerical skills including data entry, filing, record keeping, and office administration.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with the public and legal professionals.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures is a plus for managing fines or fees when applicable.
