Customer Service Representative
At Bob Dale Gloves (BDG®), protecting people is our top priority. As a North American hand protection and personal protection equipment (PPE) supplier, this enthusiasm has guided us for 40 years. We do this by working with our distribution partners to meet the safety needs of customers across the continent.
We are looking for a customer‑focused, detail‑oriented individual to support our Customer Service and office operations team. The Customer Service Representative will have reception duties, customer service, and inside sales support, ensuring prompt and accurate communication with customers, sales personnel, and internal teams. This is a full-time, in-person position located in Mesa, Arizona.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Reception
- Serve as the first point of contact by welcoming visitors, clients, and staff in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner, ensuring a positive first impression of the organization. Direct visitors appropriately and provide general information as needed.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls and emails promptly and professionally. Take accurate messages, respond to routine inquiries, and forward communications to the appropriate departments or personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and office environment by managing front-desk supplies, keeping common areas presentable, and ensuring the reception area reflects a professional image at all times.
- Provide administrative support by assisting with filing, data entry, document preparation, scanning, photocopying, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, both digital and physical.
Customer & Sales Support
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner regarding product specifications, features, inventory availability, pricing, and lead times, ensuring accurate and consistent information is provided at all times.
- Support internal sales personnel by addressing inquiries related to product details, stock levels, pricing, and order status, helping to facilitate smooth and efficient sales operations.
- Accurately receive and enter customer orders into the accounting or ERP software, verifying order details such as quantities, pricing, delivery dates, and billing information to minimize errors and ensure order accuracy.
- Document and communicate customer-specific shipping requirements, including delivery instructions, special handling requests, and preferred carriers, and coordinate closely with the warehouse and shipping teams to ensure all requirements are met.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the inside sales team as needed, including preparing documentation, assisting with order follow-ups, resolving minor issues, and contributing to overall team efficiency.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum of two years customer service, reception, sales or administration experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive and professional attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- High proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and a high attention to detail abilities.
- Resourceful, creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
- Experience working with accounting or order-entry software is an asset.
- Ability to speak, write and read Spanish is considered an asset.
