Produce Operations and Receiving Manager

Job Summary
The Produce Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the Produce Department, ensuring exceptional customer service, high-quality products, accurate inventory, and a clean, organized department. This role leads the produce team, manages receiving and vendor relationships, drives sales, and maintains operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Department Operations: Oversee daily Produce Department operations, ensuring quality, freshness, cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.
- Staff Leadership: Hire, train, coach, and supervise team members while promoting accountability and teamwork.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, ordering, product rotation, and FIFO practices while minimizing shrink.
- Receiving & Vendor Relations: Manage receiving processes, verify deliveries, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Merchandising: Create attractive, organized displays that highlight freshness and support sales goals.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers and resolving concerns.
- Performance & Profitability: Monitor department goals and implement strategies to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe department while following food safety and company standards.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with other departments to support promotions, events, and daily operations.
Qualifications
Experience
- 2+ years of produce management or related retail experience.
- 2+ years of leadership experience managing employees and daily operations.
- Experience with receiving, inventory management, and vendor relations preferred.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Skills
- Forklift certified (or ability to become certified).
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
