Build Your Family Law Career at Turco Legal
If you're looking for a place to practice family law alongside some of New England's most experienced divorce attorneys, receive meaningful mentorship, handle sophisticated cases, and build a long-term career with a growing regional firm, we'd love to meet you.
Turco Legal is seeking an Associate Family Law Attorney with 0 to 4 years of experience to join our Newburyport office. You'll work closely with partners and senior attorneys on complex family law matters while developing your own caseload and litigation skills. We believe the best family lawyers are developed through mentorship, collaboration, meaningful responsibility, and continuous learning, and we've intentionally built our firm around those principles.
Unlike firms where new attorneys spend years observing from the sidelines, our associates receive meaningful responsibility early in their careers while always having experienced attorneys available for guidance, strategy, and support. You'll learn from attorneys who have collectively handled thousands of family law matters, including complex financial divorces, high-conflict custody disputes, Hague Convention cases, family law appeals, guardianships, and other sophisticated litigation.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, modifications, contempt actions, guardianships, name changes, and related Probate and Family Court proceedings.
- Manage a growing caseload appropriate to your experience and level of development.
- Support partners and senior attorneys in complex litigation.
- Prepare for and appear at court hearings, case management conferences, pretrial conferences, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.
- Perform legal research and prepare memoranda.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, discovery responses, correspondence, and settlement agreements.
- Develop case strategy in collaboration with supervising attorneys.
- Work closely with experienced paralegals and legal assistants to efficiently manage your cases.
- Provide compassionate, responsive, and practical legal counsel to clients during difficult periods in their lives.
Minimum Qualifications
Please apply only if you meet the following minimum qualifications:
