Job Summary: Primarily responsible for assisting specialist during the care delivery visits and assisting patient optimum comfort, understanding of treatment process and responsible for producing high quality patient X-ray films.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint. Document pain scores as appropriate.
· Report condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient’s condition to the clinician
· Assist providers with exams and minor in any office/location with procedures and acts as chaperon as needed
· Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing including phlebotomy
· Use universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed
· Coordinate and manage patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests
· Responsible for communicating test results to patient.
· Provide complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
· Maintain a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas.
· Disinfect equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures.
· Follow manufacturer’s recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances.
· Perform basic maintenance of equipment and coordinate needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
· Order supplies and stock patient care areas. Monitor inventory including medications & injectables and X-ray supplies.
· Develop and maintain effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers.
· Travel between offices.
Credentials and Experience:
Requires a high school diploma ● medical assistant certificate ● x-ray permit ● CPR/BLS
Pay: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour
