Position Overview:
As a Pet Counselor / Dog Handler, you will oversee group play, monitor dog behavior, ensure room safety, and maintain a clean, stress-free environment for all pups in our care. You will play an active role in maintaining our high standards of safety and client trust.
This role is part time 1PM-6PM Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle and control dogs during training sessions, walks, and daily activities
- Strong & reliable attendance required.
- Must be comfortable working with rambunctious groups of dogs of various sizes
- Monitor dog behavior closely to identify signs of stress or discomfort and respond appropriately
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, training areas, and grooming stations to ensure a safe environment
- Engage with pet owners or clients to provide updates on their pets’ progress and address questions or concerns
- Provide hands on training with our students.
- Ability to work independently & cooperatively with colleagues from different backgrounds
- Background in veterinary assistance, veterinary technician work, pet grooming, pet sitting or kennel management is highly desirable but not required.
Requirements:
- Ability to be punctual with reliable attendance.
- Reliably able to pick-up and drop-off dogs from their home to our facility.
- Guide PDC counselors as needed. Patience, tolerance and a teamwork "we not I" ethic is crucial to our success. Everyone from upper management to walkers are involved.
- Comfortable & experienced being in an open-play setting with 15-25 dogs at a time for an full shift.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of pet care practices including feeding, grooming, and health monitoring
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for kennel cleaning or transporting animals
- You’ll be relied upon to provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for the dogs and our trainees in our care.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
