Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our custom metal fabrication shop. This role is responsible for managing production, maintaining quality standards, coordinating safety, supervising workflow, and supporting our roofing divisions with custom metal products. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, customer-focused, and capable of leading a productive team.
Pay: $65,000-75,000 DOE
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day shop operations and production schedules
- Produce accurate quotes and maintain sales goals
- Fabricate custom sheet metal products when needed
- Supervise workflow, inventory, and equipment maintenance
- Ensure quality control over all fabricated products
- Coordinate with customers, project managers, and field personnel
- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce OSHA/company safety standards
- Train and mentor shop employees
- Participate in weekly production meetings and assist sister companies as needed
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of construction, fabrication, or related industry experience
- Sales or estimating experience
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel and email)
- Ability to read plans, measurements, and work orders
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
Preferred
- 3-5 years of sheet metal fabrication experience
- Forklift certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- CDL
- First Aid/CPR certification
Physical Requirements
This position requires standing for extended periods, lifting to 100 pounds with assistance when necessary, operating fabrication equipment, and working in both shop and outdoor environments.
