Provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in the area of credentialed expertise. The instructor will adhere to the general faculty guidelines as specified by the Calhoun Community College Personnel Handbook, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees.
Salary: Dependent upon level of education and amount of credit/contact hours taught.
Work Hours: Classes are taught day, evening, and weekends on the Decatur and Huntsville/Research Park campuses, and several off-campus sites. In addition, multiple forms of distance education are offered.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A minimum of an Associates degree in a related field from an accredited institution OR 6 years’ experience and a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic certificate is required.

A minimum of three years of full-time current progressive work experience in aviation maintenance is required.

Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate is required.
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:

Proficiency of use of internet, e-mail, and computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.) is preferred but not required.

Documented evidence of industry recognized credentials such as A&P

Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;

Competency in the use of current educational technologies in the classroom and willingness to develop and teach web-based courses;

Ability to quickly learn & use a personal computer and various software programs utilized daily in a teaching environment, strong Microsoft Office skills.;

Ability to conduct individual and small group instruction

Proven successful management of personnel, records, equipment, laboratories or shops, and facilities;

Experience with multiple brands and types of Aviation equipment;

Ability to work independently and in a team environment including to review and update curriculum;

Ability to deal effectively with diverse students, other employees, and the public;

Willingness to interact regularly with business and industry to stay current with changing needs and promote positive and productive relationships;

Extensive experience with FAA/FAR Part 147 requirements and General Aviation Maintenance is preferred.

Previous experience using WebCT, Canvas or other course management software, from an instructor standpoint;
