Seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in handling various types of trailers—including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, roll-off, and other specialized vehicles—will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across local, regional, or long-haul routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other equipment as necessary, ensuring proper handling of sensitive or specialized cargo such as refrigerated goods or hazardous materials.
- Manage a variety of trailer types including refrigerated trailers for perishable goods, flatbeds for oversized items, tankers for liquids, and dump trucks for bulk materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in accordance with federal and company policies.
- Route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel usage and minimizing delays.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, provide updates on estimated arrival times, and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including route driving and delivery operations.
- Hands-on experience with manual transmission trucks preferred.
- Familiarity with operating various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment; forklift certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to truck driving and cargo handling.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and compliance requirements.
- Physical ability to perform the demands of the role including lifting heavy loads and long hours on the road.
