AS A MEDICAL FRONT OFFICE COORDINATOR/MEDICAL ASSISTANT, YOUR DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Assist with all aspects of clinic for patients and staff as follows:
- Call daily to confirm patients on the schedules for the next day and fill any slots where patients have rescheduled or cancelled
- Control move up list by monitoring and moving those patients as others reschedule or cancel
- Assist or fill in for the Medical Front Office Specialist when needed
- Schedule appointments accurately by reviewing the details with the patient including date, time, and location.
- Use FormDr to pull new patient paperwork and enter in the EMR accurately and in a timely manner
- Works the clinic fax box daily
- Schedules Outgoing Referrals as needed
- Assists in checking Insurance Eligibility and entering all co-pay/payment information in the general notes on the appt screen
SKILLS & BACKGROUND YOU'LL NEED:
- Strong knowledge of EMR
- Proven customer/patient support experience.
- Ability to manage your time effectively
- Desire to collaborate for the benefit of your team
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrates active listening
- Prioritize tasks effectively
- General knowledge of insurance authorizations and terminology
- Appointment scheduling
- Knowledge of HIPAA
- Carefully adhere to HIPAA standards and procedures to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of our patients’ personal and medical information in every interaction.
- Understand and practice regulatory standards and organization policies and procedures including but not limited to: OSHA, infection control, and patient care policies and procedures.

OTHER INFORMATION: High school diploma or GED. Applicant will be required to pass a background check. Requires infrequent lifting, not more than 20 pounds (with help) and/or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds. May be prolonged periods of sitting; moderate amount of walking, stooping and standing. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens. SCMT is a smoke free workplace.

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Medical office experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
