What You’ll Do
As the Blood Bank Supervisor, you will:
- Oversee daily blood bank operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety
- Lead and develop staff — train, monitor, evaluate, and mentor testing personnel
- Ensure regulatory compliance (NYS, CAP, AABB, Joint Commission standards)
- Monitor quality control (QC), proficiency testing, and competency programs
- Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment performance
- Oversee staff scheduling, payroll, and timekeeping systems
- Conduct annual policy reviews and staff competency assessments
- Collaborate across departments and represent the lab on hospital committees
- Drive continuous improvement in laboratory operations and patient outcomes
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Completion of an accredited training program
- 4+ years of hospital laboratory experience (blood bank strongly preferred)
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of blood bank principles, equipment, and procedures
- Proven ability to lead teams and communicate effectively
Licensure:
- Active NYS Department of Education License (required)
