School‑Based Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP)

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re seeking a dedicated School‑Based Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students across a K–12 public school environment in Anchorage, Alaska. This full‑time onsite role spans the entire 2026–2027 school year and involves working closely with educators, related service providers, and families to help students access communication supports and participate fully in school routines.
Local candidates and travelers are encouraged to apply. A structured travel pay package is available for candidates commuting 50+ miles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide speech‑language therapy aligned with IEP goals
- Conduct evaluations, re‑evaluations, and screenings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Support students with articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social‑communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and school teams
- Document services and maintain compliance with district and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning
- Recommend classroom accommodations and communication supports
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Alaska SLP License (required)
- School‑based or pediatric experience (preferred)
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation expectations
- Ability to support a varied caseload across multiple grade levels
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time‑management skills

- Start Date: August 19, 2026
- End Date: May 21, 2027
Schedule and Hours
- Monday through Friday
- Standard Anchorage school hours
- 30‑minute unpaid lunch
- 37.5–40 hours per week
- Onsite, K–12 school‑based setting
COMPENSATIONLocal Rate (within 50 miles)
- $65/hr
- 37.5 hours/week
- $2,400/week total
- Approx. $9,600/month
Travel Rate (50+ miles)
A blended package combining taxable hourly pay with non‑taxed stipends:
- $20/hr (taxed)
- 37.5 hours/week → $750/week taxed
- $1,500/week housing stipend (non‑taxed)
- $500/week meals & incidentals stipend (non‑taxed)
- $2,750/week total compensation
- Approx. $11,000/month
Travelers receive a structured stipend package aligned with IRS guidelines for housing and meals. Candidates should inquire for full details.
