Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, standards, and safety guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers efficiently and safely
- Follow food handling procedures to ensure cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient preparation to support daily service needs
- Maintain a clean and organized work station by adhering to cleaning schedules and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service flow
- Support food safety management practices by monitoring temperatures, storage, and sanitation protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service environments
- Strong knife skills with precise slicing techniques essential for efficient prep work
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety standards in production, handling, and storage practices
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen team members
- Experience in menu planning, recipe adherence, and catering is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
