The NDT Technician - Trainee will perform industrial inspections support onshore/offshore of piping, pipelines, pressure vessels, and mechanical and structural components, and other inspection-related duties. This position requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and detailed documentation of inspection results.
This position involves frequent travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities, and offshore locations to perform inspections and support project objectives. While most travel will be domestic, occasional international assignments may be required.
As an on-call role, it demands flexibility and readiness to travel by vessel or aircraft, often on short notice. Candidates must be prepared to work in dynamic, remote, and potentially challenging environments.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
A 40-hour Radiation Safety course is required (prior to employment).
Level 1 NDT Certification in UT or RT, along with MT or PT
Must meet company certification requirements.
Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC card, valid Passport, SafeGulf & HUET Water Survival certification.
- Ability to work offshore and onshore, including extended periods in remote locations.
Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Must successfully complete a Respiratory Fit Test, administered by OII, for work in H ₂ S environments and confined spaces. Candidates must be clean-shaven prior to testing to ensure proper mask seal and compliance.
DESIRED
Minimum two (2) years related NDT experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
Rope Access Certified (Irata/Sprat)
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel
Basic understanding of NDT methods and principles.

Working Conditions
This position is considered OFFSHORE WORK which is characterized as follows.
Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.
Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels, and the light is intense/glare.
Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
Work surface is stable, height is elevated.
