We are looking to hire a thorough and responsible Maintenance Technician to assist in taking on the task of preserving the good condition and functionality of various homes within our portfolio of rental properties in Galveston County. As a general maintenance technician, some of your duties may include painting, minor HVAC repairs, drywall repairs, and a myriad of other related tasks. To ensure success as a general maintenance technician, you should have thorough and practical attention to detail, have weekend & holiday availability, and ideal transportation. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all best practices—including safety & health, financials, teamwork, and timeliness. Excellent knowledge & prior experience in general maintenance and HVAC is preferred. The candidate must be able to work in various conditions and interact with clients in a friendly and professional manner.
Job Requirements:
· Previous HVAC Experience (at least 1 year)
· Previous Maintenance Experience (at least 3 years)
· Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC.
· Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
· Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
· Ability to lift heavy equipment.
· Ability to work in harsh weather conditions.
· High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Job Duties:
· Driving from location to location.
· Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
· Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, circuit breakers, and switches)
· Replace rotting deck boards, broken siding and railings
· Replace toilets, faucets and valves
· Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
· Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace doors, etc.)
· Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks (painting, carpentry, etc.)
· Replace broken bed frames
· Repair holes in the walls
· Repair broken wood trim and vinyl flooring
· Replace faulty thermostats
· Troubleshoot faulty appliance parts
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
