Duties
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections of HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Perform plumbing work related to HVAC systems such as condensate drain cleaning and pipe repairs.
- Utilize tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for system repairs when necessary.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of inspections, repairs performed, and parts used for each job.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks including appliance repair, boiler servicing, and general mechanical troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC systems or related mechanical fields.
- Strong understanding of construction principles relevant to HVAC installation and repair projects.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents accurately.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair, welding, plumbing, and boiler maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating a driver vehicle preferred.
- Familiarity with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration), electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters, and field service procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments.
- Certifications or training in HVAC/R technology or related fields are advantageous; ongoing professional development encouraged.
