SUMMARY
H.J. Russell is seeking an industry-leading Construction Manager with extensive experience overseeing the delivery of a $80M Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Savannah, Ga. The position is full-time at the construction project site during normal construction hours; however, some night and weekend work may be required. The selected candidate will interact daily with the client and the contractor, working with a Project Engineer and part-time inspectors, and reporting directly to the Program Manager. The Superintendent plays a critical role in maintaining the quality of work, coordinating with all trades, and managing any site-specific challenges. They also ensure that safety protocols are followed, and that any unforeseen issues or changes are addressed promptly to keep the project on track.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Construction Project Management (e.g. observation of the construction work, project progress reports, project team coordination for all construction submittals, direct client and CMF coordination, timely delivery of responses to all construction submittals, RFI’s, RFC’s, CO’s, etc.).
- QA/QC reviews and compliance.
- Function as Onsite Safety Officer (will be trained upon hiring);
- Work with Construction Contractor in expediting solutions to technical field problems.
- Review all construction submittals.
- Coordinate directly with Lead Design Engineer and Design Team discipline leads on all design changes and construction submittals.
- Participate in the negotiation of change orders specific to design changes.
- Notification to the client of any observed work that does not conform to the requirements of the contract documents.
- Participate in and document all construction meetings onsite (e.g. daily tailgate/safety meetings, weekly construction meetings, etc.); and
- Meet document control requirements, including filing of all construction-related documents
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Construction Manager OR Professional Engineer (PE).
