In this energetic position, you will support food service operations by preparing, assembling, and serving meals in accordance with safety standards and dietary guidelines. Duties
- Assist in meal preparation by following recipes and slicing techniques using proper knife skills and food preparation equipment.
- Prepare and portion food items accurately, ensuring adherence to food safety management standards.
- Serve meals to residents or customers with excellent customer service skills, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques, manual handling, and heavy lifting when necessary.
- Support kitchen operations through food production tasks such as assembling trays, garnishing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas.
- Follow safety standards during food production and equipment operation to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with sensory evaluation of foods to ensure quality and presentation meet established standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in basic math for portioning and inventory management.
- Strong knife skills, including slicing techniques essential for food prep.
- Experience in meal preparation, food service, or catering within the food industry or restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and handling procedures.
- Ability to operate food preparation equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach to residents or guests.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts.
- Familiarity with culinary practices such as cooking, food production, and sensory evaluation ensures high-quality meal delivery.

Pay: $15.50 - $17.50 per hour
