NCS is seeking a Mid-Level Structured Cabling Technician to support the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of low-voltage and structured cabling systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with commercial structured cabling projects, including copper and fiber optic infrastructure, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
- Perform cable routing, dressing, labeling, and cable management.
- Install and support IDF and MDF telecommunications rooms.
- Install cable pathways, including J-hooks, conduit, cable trays, and ladder racks.
- Rack and stack telecommunications and network equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and project drawings.
- Perform cable testing and certification using industry-standard testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and infrastructure issues.
- Ensure installations meet industry standards, customer requirements, and company quality expectations.
- Complete daily reports, material tracking, and project documentation.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Assist Lead Technicians and Foremen with project execution and team coordination.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of structured cabling experience.
- Experience installing and terminating copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Experience working in commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, or data center environments.
- Knowledge of IDF/MDF installations and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Familiarity with Fluke testing equipment and cable certification processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI Installer Certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- Fiber Optic Certification.
- Experience with data center installations.
- Experience with access control, security, or audiovisual systems.
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
