Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Associate Pastor to join our vibrant faith community. This vital role involves providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and educational guidance to diverse congregations. The Associate Pastor will support the Senior Pastor in fostering spiritual growth, leading worship services, and engaging with community outreach initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to serve with compassion, inspire faith, and strengthen our church’s mission through dynamic leadership and heartfelt ministry.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging sermons and religious teachings that resonate with a diverse congregation, emphasizing biblical theology and Christian principles.
- Provide pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance to individuals and families facing life challenges, including terminal illness and bereavement.
- Lead religious education classes, including teaching religious studies and facilitating faith-based programs for all age groups.
- Offer crisis intervention and conflict management support during times of community or personal crisis, ensuring compassionate care for those in need.
- Organize and coordinate church events, outreach programs, and community service initiatives that promote spiritual growth and fellowship.
- Support hospice care efforts by offering terminal illness counseling and bereavement support to patients’ families.
- Mentor church members, lead prayer groups, and collaborate with staff to develop programs that nurture spiritual development across the congregation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a clergyperson or in a religious leadership role within a nonprofit faith-based organization.
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to communicate complex theological concepts clearly and effectively.
- Experience working with culturally diverse communities, demonstrating sensitivity and inclusivity in ministry practices.
- Knowledge of pastoral theology, biblical studies, Christian counseling, and religious education methodologies.
- Excellent presentation skills for public speaking engagements, sermons, and community outreach events.
- Ability to provide crisis management, conflict resolution, and terminal illness counseling with compassion and professionalism.
- Skilled in event planning, mentoring, writing sermons or educational materials, and managing sensitive situations involving families or individuals facing hardship.

Pay: $48,597.11 - $58,525.55 per year
