Director, Sales Finance | Tampa, FL | $150,000–$180,000 + Bonus + Equity + Full Benefits
This is a rare, high-impact opportunity to serve as the senior finance leader for the entire go-to-market organization at a high-growth, global technology company that has delivered consistent double digit annual growth over the last five years and is on a clear path toward public company readiness. As Director of Sales Finance, you will own top-line forecasting, sales and marketing budget management, compensation plan design and administration, headcount planning, and go-to-market analytics — partnering directly with the CFO and go-to-market leadership as a trusted strategic advisor and financial voice at the table. The hiring manager is a hands-off, autonomy-driven leader who values smart, proactive thinkers who bring solutions rather than waiting for direction, and personality and cultural fit are weighted heavily in this search. This is an individual contributor role at the outset with a clear plan to add direct reports, making it an ideal platform for an up-and-coming Director ready to grow into VP-level scope at a company with real momentum. The role is fully in-office five days per week in a premier Tampa location. If you bring deep SaaS metrics fluency, strong FP&A modeling skills, and the executive presence to deliver difficult messages to senior sales leaders with confidence, this is a role worth your serious attention.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and long-range revenue scenarios for the go-to-market organization.
- Build and maintain capacity models that inform hiring plans, quota setting, and future revenue projections.
- Track sales performance indicators such as quota attainment, pipeline movement, and average sales cycle length to flag trends early.
- Model and evaluate strategic initiatives, including pricing changes, capital allocation decisions, new market expansion, and partnership opportunities.
- Partner with Sales Leadership and HR to design and roll out annual sales compensation plans tied to company revenue goals.
- Manage the full commission lifecycle, from quota and territory validation through calculation and payout.
- Own the accuracy and integrity of data within the commission management system.
- Measure the impact of compensation plans and other incentive programs against their intended goals.
- Serve as the go-to person for resolving commission questions and disputes.
- Manage forecasting and oversight of operating expenses across sales, marketing, and customer success.
- Lead headcount planning, including models and recommendations that support org design and hiring decisions.
- Build and deliver monthly and quarterly reporting packages for go-to-market leadership, with variance analysis and commentary on what's driving the numbers.
- Spot financial risks and opportunities before they become surprises and raise them proactively.
- Act as the go-to financial partner for go-to-market leadership, including the CFO and the heads of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.
- Work closely with Sales Operations and IT to keep data, systems, and reporting aligned.
- Push for ongoing improvements in how financial processes and reporting scale as the business grows.
- Lead and develop direct reports as the team expands.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Solid background in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Corporate Finance with strong analytical chops.
- Ability to build sophisticated, driver-based financial models from the ground up.
- Executive presence. Comfortable presenting to senior leaders and delivering hard messages to sales leadership with clarity and confidence.
- Self-starter who brings ideas and solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Cultural fit genuinely matters here.
- Experience with a cloud-based FP&A platform.
Preferred
- Experience at a company on a path toward public company readiness.
- MBA and/or CPA.
