We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Field Service Engineer / Senior Technical Operations Specialist to join our North American team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, solving technical challenges, working directly with customers, and installing cutting-edge technology.
Every week is different. You could be installing a holographic system for a university, supporting a Hologram Zoo installation, conducting demonstrations in our Austin showroom, or providing technical support to customers across North America.
Immediate travel opportunity: The successful candidate will join the team on an installation project in Mexico during the first week of August, providing hands-on training and experience from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation, commissioning, and customer training for Axiom’s commercial holographic systems.
- Install and commission Hologram Zoo attractions throughout North America.
- Deliver product demonstrations from our Austin showroom.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support for commercial customers.
- Build strong relationships with clients and serve as their primary technical contact.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and system issues.
- Maintain installation documentation and weekly progress reports.
- Work closely with Axiom’s Australian head office and technical teams to stay current with product developments and installation standards.
- Support Hologram Zoo operations when required to ensure uninterrupted customer service.
- Assist with internal technical projects, product testing, and client support.
- Perform additional operational or technical duties as reasonably required.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is practical, technically capable, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field.
Required
- Passport and no criminal history
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience installing, servicing, or supporting technical equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Windows PC proficiency.
- Basic networking knowledge.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout North America.
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to lift and install equipment safely.
- Highly organized and able to work independently.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, weekends, and travel days when required.
Preferred
- AV or commercial technology installation experience.
- IT, networking, electronics, or technical support background.
- Experience with projection systems, display systems, or immersive technology.
- Unity or Unreal Engine experience is beneficial but not required.
- Experience delivering customer training or product demonstrations.
Travel
This role involves regular travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with occasional international travel.
Travel is a significant part of the position. The successful candidate must be comfortable travelling for installations, client support, and project work as required.
Your first assignment will be travelling to Mexico in the first week of August to assist with a customer installation alongside experienced members of the Axiom team.
