Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Main a professional chair side manner and communicate with patient smoothly and skillfully.
Skills
- Proficiency in Open Dental for scheduling, documentation review, and medical coding.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry and periodontal procedures and caring for young patients in a friendly, reassuring manner.
- Skilled in chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures with an emphasis on patient care and comfort.
- Expertise in infection control practices, healthcare infection prevention measures, and maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
- Ability to perform medical imaging accurately while ensuring patient safety through proper X-ray techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining treatment plans clearly to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
