Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, behavioral disorders, and co-occurring conditions. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including mental health evaluations, vital signs, and physiological observations.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications accurately, including injections and IV infusions, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Monitor patients for acute pain management needs, behavioral changes, and safety concerns; respond promptly to emergencies.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medication administration, and coping strategies.
- Assist with triage procedures in urgent care or emergency settings to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Support discharge planning by coordinating follow-up care and community resources for long-term recovery.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards throughout all patient interactions.
- Participate in team meetings, case management activities, and ongoing training to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (Alzheimer’s care), or memory care preferred.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles, trauma medicine, and acute care procedures.
- Prior experience in psychiatric units, crisis stabilization units, or mental health facilities is highly desirable.
- Competence in administering injections, IV infusions, suturing, phlebotomy, and sterile processing techniques.
- Ability to handle complex cases involving trauma medicine, hospice & palliative care, or senior care populations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient assessment and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Pay: $62.00 - $65.00 per hour
