Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Wanted
Community Program in Miami Dade County
Looking for an RD who is innovative, positive and self-motivated to join our growing Fruity Veggie team.
Dietitian Duties:
· Assess patients’ and clients’ health needs and diets.
· Counsel patients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits.
· Keep up with the latest nutritional science research.
· Perform Nutrition assessments (dietary and anthropometric)
· Menu Analysis, Menu Creation
· Parent Nutrition Trainings, Teacher Nutrition Trainings
· Kitchen Staff Trainings
· Cooking Demos
· Lunch and Learn: Nutrition Work Shops
· Development of educational materials
SKILLS:
Analytical skills. Dietitians and nutritionists of the Fruity Veggie Nutrition Team must keep up to date with the latest nutrition research. RDN/LDN should be able to interpret scientific studies and translate nutritional science into practical eating advice.
Listening skills. Dietitians and nutritionists of the Fruity Veggie Nutrition Team must listen carefully to understand clients’ goals and concerns. They may also work with other healthcare workers as part of a team to improve the health of a patient and need to listen to team members when designing intervention.
Problem-solving skills. Critical thinkers can solve problems quick and easy.
Speaking skills. Dietitians and nutritionists of the Fruity Veggie Nutrition Team must explain complicated topics in a way that people with less technical knowledge can understand. They must be able to clearly explain eating plans to clients and to other healthcare professionals involved in a patient’s care.
Education
Bachelor’s and/ or master’s Degree with major studies in food and nutrition.
- Current state licensure/certification, required by state.
- Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
- One (1) year of work experience in a facility setting with Health Services responsibilities or equivalent.
Additional Information: Experience is preferred but not required.
