Allegiant Hospice is a Wisconsin-based hospice agency dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care. We partner closely with patients, families, and care teams to ensure comfort, dignity, and clinical excellence throughout the hospice journey.
Allegiant Hospice is seeking a Hospice Physician to serve as an alternate to our Medical Director. This role supports hospice medical oversight, clinical collaboration, and regulatory compliance, while offering flexible scheduling and limited on-call responsibilities.
This is an ideal opportunity for a physician experienced in hospice, palliative care, geriatrics, or internal medicine who is looking for meaningful, flexible work without full-time administrative demands.

Serve as an alternate physician to the Hospice Medical Director as needed

Provide physician oversight for hospice patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

Review and certify hospice eligibility, recertifications, and plan of care

Participate in IDG meetings (as needed)

Offer clinical guidance to nursing and clinical staff

Ensure compliance with CMS hospice regulations and Wisconsin requirements

Be available for limited physician consultation and coverage when the Medical Director is unavailable

MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Wisconsin medical license

Board certified or board eligible (Hospice & Palliative Medicine preferred, not required)

Experience in hospice, palliative care, geriatrics, internal medicine, or family medicine

Knowledge of CMS hospice regulations preferred

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Comfortable with hybrid work (remote chart review with occasional in-person needs)
