Youth & Young Adult Staff Minister

Type: Part-Time
Required # of Hours: 15-20 Hours per week; some Saturdays, Sundays required
Pay: $24,000-$27,000
Primary Duties:
As a professional staff level employee, the Staff Minister of Youth, Young Adults and Men’s Ministry is responsible to the Pastor for assisting the Church in planning, coordinating and promoting the youth, young adults, and college/university students programs of the Church. Maintain clear channels of communication with the Pastor to identify and implement needed programs and to receive the Pastor’s input, insight, and affirmation regarding plans and decisions.
Position Requirements Education
-Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is preferred in related field (theology, biblical studies)
-Minimum 3-5+ years of related experience in youth ministry leadership plus continuing education in related field is also acceptable

Special Abilities: Be knowledgeable of the latest technology as a source of learning and promotion of biblical principles. Full Job Description
· Give direction and oversight to youth, young adults, college and university students
· Oversee youth council, youth advisors, and young adult ministry leaders
· Coordinate with the Christian Education Director regarding youth curriculum
· Coordinate with the New Members Ministry to connect with new youth members
· Serve as an advisor to the Boy Scouts
· Identify needs and evaluate existing programs to determine effectiveness.
· Advise in the use of program materials, equipment, supplies, and space by youth groups in all Church program organizations
· Plan and direct youth fellowships, retreats, mission trips, youth seminars and workshops.
· Counsel youth and parents as needed.
· Conduct Youth Bible study as needed.
· Coordinate youth involved outreach programs
· Remain informed of current trends in youth education programs and youth culture.
· Work with young adults, college/university leaders to plan and develop programs and assist in recruitment of participants.
· Meet monthly with ministry leaders to discuss upcoming events, challenges, and solutions.
· Preach and counsel as directed by the Pastor.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor
