ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Franklinton Rising is a Christian nonprofit breaking the cycle of poverty through job training and mentoring of young people in Columbus neighborhoods. We build affordable housing, teach construction trades, and help apprentice graduates find meaningful careers — all while fighting gentrification and investing in the communities we serve.
THE ROLE
As Site Supervisor, you will work daily alongside apprentices ages 17–24 on active construction sites in Columbus. This is a working supervisor position — you lead by example, demonstrating safe techniques, strong work ethic, and Christian character. You will also disciple and mentor the young men and women in your care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise staff and sub contractors, order materials, stay on schedule
- Work daily on-site with youth building affordable housing in Columbus
- Open and close the construction site — gates, alarms, tools, and materials
- Teach safe construction techniques using hands-on methods
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all apprentices in your care
- Mentor and disciple apprentices in life skills using Christian principles
- Perform physical tasks including tool use, ladders, carrying loads, and uneven terrain
- Securely store equipment and materials at end of each work day
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 4 years experience in a building or remodeling homes.
Committed Christian and active member of a local fellowship
Ability to speak about your faith in a compelling, personal way
Prior experience working with inner-city youth is a plus
