Duties
- Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently to clean all cookware, utensils, dishes, and kitchen tools in accordance with safety standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following recipe guidelines and portion control standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to uphold health and safety regulations.
- Support the culinary team by preparing ingredients for meal service, including basic cooking tasks under supervision.
- Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed to prevent contamination and spoilage.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding meal prep needs, ingredient availability, and timing.
- Follow all safety standards during food production, cleaning processes, and operation of kitchen equipment such as slicers, ovens, and mixers.
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and recipe adherence.
- Proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques for consistent ingredient preparation.
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate smoothly with kitchen staff and team members.
- Knowledge of catering processes and serving procedures is a plus.
