Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our facility. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in various medical specialties, including Emergency Medicine, Geriatrics, Dermatology, and Inpatient care at a Level I Trauma Center is highly desirable.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Record vital signs and patient histories accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and calming anxieties.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Collaborate with nursing staff in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as needed.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Skills
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems for documentation.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and practices.
- Ability to perform vital sign assessments accurately.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, including geriatrics.
- Familiarity with dermatological procedures and treatments is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic healthcare setting.
