Septic Receiving
We are seeking a Septic Receiving worker to support wastewater operations in Farmington, NM, contributing to the smooth operation of the treatment plant and its receiving infrastructure. This role ensures haulers properly discharge wastewater and receive receipts, permit tickets, and other required documentation.
Pay: $20.60 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Set up and unload wastewater, sludge, or effluent from septic trucks
- Check for obstructions, adjust valves to regulate flow, and monitor gauges and flow meters
- Perform manual labor including shoveling, raking, and handling waste materials
- Collect septic samples for analysis, process pH samples, record data, and inspect samples for prohibited material; prepare reports for operators
- Follow health and safety protocols, ensure proper disposal, and maintain regulatory compliance
- Assist with headworks operation and cleaning, including raking bar screens, checking pump operations, and other station assignments
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
- Maintain daily and punctual attendance at the job site
- Interact professionally with septic haulers, contractors, and vendors; follow oral and written instructions; maintain positive working relationships
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to carry, stand, walk, push, pull, reach, stoop, climb, and perform manual manipulation
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions
