Dr. Brumley is seeking a skilled and compassionate Part Time Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality oral health care in a supportive, team-centered environment.
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday or Thursday 8-4pm (2 days a week)
Job Summary:
As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in delivering preventive and therapeutic dental care. Responsibilities include dental prophylaxis, periodontal therapy, patient education, and assisting with treatment planning while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, and periodontal maintenance
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including oral cancer screenings and review of medical histories
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-operative instructions
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and assist with dental imaging procedures
- Accurately document patient care using Open Dental or similar dental software
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized operatory
- Follow all aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety
- Assist the dentist during exams as needed
Requirements:
- Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency in medical terminology and strong knowledge of dental systems
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments
- Familiarity with Open Dental or similar dental software
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control measures
- Experience with CAD/CAM technology and dental imaging is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
