POSITION SUMMARY
Mark Latham Excavation is seeking Laborers to support excavation and site work throughout Central Oregon. This position involves completing a variety of skill sets such as operating hand tools and power tools, laying pipe, lifting, cleanup, measuring, grade checking, and assisting equipment operators on active jobsites. Previous construction experience is preferred but not required.
Experienced heavy equipment operators are also encouraged to apply. Applicants with seat time on excavators, dozers, loaders, blades, or skid steers should indicate their experience when applying and will be considered for placement accordingly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform assigned tasks in a safe, timely, accurate and efficient manner observing all safety laws, policies and rules
- Assist with excavation, trenching, backfilling, and grading operations
- Lay pipe and assist pipe crews with bedding, placement, and compaction
- Perform grade checking and set stakes, hubs, and forms as directed
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment
- Assist with daily equipment service including fueling, greasing, and safety checks
- Provide traffic control and flagging as needed
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and haul roads
- Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and/or co-workers
- Other duties may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a valid current Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Have knowledge of hand, power & small tools
- Previous experience pipe laying preferred
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be willing to work in an environment with exposure to various weather conditions
- Be quality and production oriented
- Ability to take instruction & implement daily instruction/tasks
- Be willing to travel if required
- Have a positive attitude and team focus

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
