American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry Float Pool position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Michigan, requiring an active MI RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

13-week contract in the PCU (Progressive Care Unit) of a short-term acute care Level 1 Trauma Center
-
Mixed unit environment covering PCU, Med/Surg Telemetry, and Med/Surg patients
-
Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as COVID, stroke, NSTEMI, chest pain, AKI, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, CHF exacerbation, cellulitis, and AMS
-
Patient ratio of 1:4–5; Pilot Team Nursing Model with RN and LPN covering 6 patients

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
-
Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday, both day and night shifts)
-
Floating required to other areas as needed based on experience and scope of practice, including ICU, ER, Behavioral Health, and a secondary facility location

No on-call responsibilities

Telemetry monitoring with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Charting via Epic (experience required)

Medications dispensed via Pyxis
-
Safe patient handling equipment in use
-
Active MI RN license currently in hand (no pending licenses accepted)

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required
-
Ability to float within scope of practice to various units including ICU, ER, and Behavioral Health

Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and care of a mixed acuity adult and geriatric patient population

Navy blue scrubs required

RTO requests exceeding 7 days require management approval; up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests allowed per contract

First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they have more than 3 years of RN experience
